Are you struggling working from home?

The View is the solution to your working from home distractions

The last fourteen months have thrown our work routines up in the air. While initially, Zoom meetings were a novelty, not having to run to catch a bus, squeeze into a seat on the Luas or battle traffic was a relief; over one year later, not meeting colleagues face to face and the daily lack of structure has tipped the work-life balance. Starting the workday at a designated time and officially ending it is a struggle for many working from home not to mention setting times for breaks and lunch.  Routine is now a welcome solution.

A recent survey by The UK Royal Society for Public Health showed people who switched to working from home because of Covid-19 had experienced health and wellbeing impacts, with the most common being feeling less connected to colleagues (67%), taking less exercise (46%), developing musculoskeletal problems (39%) and disturbed sleep (37%)

Nearly half (48%) of people who work from a sofa or bedroom said they had developed musculoskeletal problems and nearly two-thirds (59%) said they felt more isolated from their colleagues.

We have a Work Well policy at The View and offer flexible solutions to maintain a work-life balance. Sitting on the water in the marina, our calming office environment is a short scenic walk into Malahide village. Our co-working space offers our members daily structure, while the sea air allows for a sounder sleep at the end of the day. A day pass will give you an idea of how the atmosphere in the building can inspire and reintroduce a routine into your working day.

This month we are running a special offer for €25 for a day pass when you mention this blog. If you would like to have a tour of the building to find out more about how our flexible office options work and how we can tailor options for your needs, ring us on 01 8456179, we are here from 8 am for the Summer.

Hybrid Working - Is hybrid the new Working Week?

The office environment has changed dramatically in the last eighteen months and some companies are now finding it quite a task to coax their employees back into the workplace as the restrictions ease this Autumn.

Some larger corporations have chosen to adopt a hybrid 3:2 working model, three days in the office and two at home or to allow those who are not keen on returning to the office to work off a 2:3 model; two days in the office with three days at home.

General feedback amongst staff shows that workers miss collaborating with their team and holding their face-to-face meetings. To accommodate this, there's another hybrid option, in which employees are only required to come into the office once a week on the same day as their team. The rest of the time, unless there is a meeting that requires in person, they’ll have the flexibility to work from home. Getting the balance right and keeping a team happy under the circumstances is key for most employers.

The View is a bright, airy working space with spectacular views and has proven to be a great incentive for enticing staff back into their workplace. We have recently added seven new offices to our building due to the demand for private offices and there are only two units currently available as they were snapped up from the plans; the new offices all have balcony access overlooking Malahide marina.
